Highly recognizable by the gravel parking lot, red barnlike structure and green roof, the building gives the impression of a long standing BBQ joint, but Granddaddy's is fairly new, having opened in  August 2015.  Early reviews mentioned limited seating, but a newly added wing provides an ample seating capacity.  Also, there is outdoor seating for those cool fall days.

The menu offers pulled pork sandwiches and plates, as well as chicken and ribs.  All are smoked low and slow over white oak and hickory wood.

I had the ribs which are large, meaty, juicy and fall-off-the-bone tender.  The ribs alone are worth the visit.  My wife enjoyed the pulled pork plate.  The owner uses a self-developed rub as well as making his own sauces.  I tried both the mustard and the sweet sauce on a couple of ribs--very tasty.  In reality, though, the ribs stand on their own without any sauce necessary.  They do require plenty of napkins.  The pork did need a little sauce to bring out the full flavor.  A major plus was that the pork was very lean with no hint of fat or grease.

Sides are limited, but tasty.  I recommend the baked beans and BBQ slaw.  They have a hint of sweetness, and are very flavorful.  All plates come with corn pups which are miniature cornbread muffins.  They are welcome addition to the meal.  The sweet tea was the epitome of southern iced tea.
